Wales vs Iran highlights: Late flourish and red card sink Bale and 10-man Wales at World Cup

Goals from substitutes Roozbeh Cheshmi and Ramin Rezaeian in stoppage time saw Iran beat 10-man Wales 2-0 in Group B.

Iran lost his opening match 6–2 to England, but after head coach Carlos Queiroz made five substitutions of him, the squad changed.

A pivotal moment came in the 86th minute when Welsh goalkeeper Wayne Hennessy was sent off after a brutal tackle on Mehdi Taremi.

Up until this point, Iran had dominated the second half, with Cheshmi and Rezaian finally ensuring they lasted long enough into injury time to provoke an emotional celebration.

Kiefer's Moore, who made an impressive appearance off the bench in a 1-1 draw against the United States, nearly led his side in the 12th minute from Conor's Roberts cross. So things worked out for Gareth Bale and his colleagues in an offensive sense.
