Tunisia vs Australia Highlights: Mitchell Duke goal secures historic Socceroos win at World Cup

Australia's thrilling victory over Tunisia has boosted their hopes of reaching the knockout stages of the 2022 World Cup.

A stunning header from Mitchell Duke to Craig Goodwin's cross in the 23rd minute proved the winning goal as the football looses celebrated their first World Cup win since beating Serbia in 2010.

The Graham-Arnold-led side, who suffered a 4-1 loss to France in their opening match, scored in their final group match on Wednesday 30 June.

Tunisia also had hopes of advancing through the group stage for the first time after an opening draw against Denmark.

However, they squandered some good chances, with Mohamed Draeger being held back by a spectacular last-minute effort from Australian defender Harry Sowter.

Captains Youssef Mousakni and Wabi Hazli also missed out on Wednesday as Tunisia held off group leaders France.
